A good subject line is crucial in any form of written communication, especially in emails. It is the first thing that the recipient sees, and it can determine whether or not they open and read the message. I recently discovered SubjectLine.com, a free subject line rating tool. Simply type in your subject line, submit to evaluate, and SubjectLine.com scores the subject line on a scale of 1-100.
For example, my original subject line for my latest newsletter was going to be “Save Time with Gmail Templates”, however it only scored 70 points. By simply changing the subject to “Starting Today, Save Time with Gmail Templates”, the score jumped to 100 and was the one I decided to go with!
If you struggle with composing subject lines, give it a try on your next email!
