For many entrepreneurs and business owners, doing the day-to-day work is easy, but knowing how to get clients can be difficult. I was all ears when my business coach suggested that I start writing email newsletters as a way to grow my business. She suggested that email newsletters are a great way to show off expertise, and build relationships with people who are already in my network.

What I’ve discovered when working with my clients, is that email newsletters are a great way to keep your customers informed and engaged with your business. Not only can they help build relationships and loyalty, but they can also be used as an effective marketing tool.

If you’re going to put in the effort, here are some tips to make the most of your efforts:

  • Build your subscriber list. Increasing the number of people on your mailing list will increase its impact. Invite everyone you know and everyone new you meet to subscribe.
  • Post newsletters to your website. Once your newsletter is published, set it up and post as a blog on your website. Keeping the content on your website fresh will help your site appear quickly in Google and other search engines.
  • Take advantage of social media. Set up posts on LinkedIn and your business Facebook page that links to the blog article on your website. This will expose your newsletter to people who are not currently on your mailing list. And who knows, you may even gain a few new subscribers from doing this!
  • Publish regularly. There is power in consistency. Regular publishing helps subscribers remember who you are and what you do, both of which contribute to word of mouth and referrals.

So remember, newsletters are a powerful way to grow a business and there are many things you can do to make them even more effective. Put these steps into action for your own newsletter and watch for the results!
